The Squirrel Cults

RATATOSKR, Demon of Squirrels, is the lowliest of the G/C Demon Lords but is eager for advancement.  Although He can be bribed with particularly tasty nuts when Summoned, He is likely to require as a term of a Pact that the Binder puts their Faith in Him as God of Squirrels or even founds a Temple to Him and recruits Followers to His Creed.  Some Binders have found such terms amusing, easy to satisfy or just missed them in the small print, and so a number of Temples of RATATOSKR, the Unbeatable God of Squirrels, have sprung up in Streets of False Gods or in the woods, like oaks from forgotten acorns.

The Cult of RATATOSKR has proven surprisingly popular, as an easygoing G/C Creed that makes little demand on His Followers and seems to focus on climbing trees and buildings and stealing nuts and other trinkets.  It has a particular appeal to fun-loving young women (and therefore to fun-loving young men who wish to impress them).  TIPRE has stepped in to Power His Clerical Spells - because She saw it as an amusing opportunity to acquire Followers and/or because RATATOSKR did a crafty deal with Her.

Squirrels do not have their own Dream Kingdom, but go to the Tree Kingdoms of the Trees in which they sleep or hibernate - especially the Oak or Pine Kingdoms.  Red Squirrels are the squirrels of the Overworld, Grey Squirrels are the squirrels of the Underworld, and Black (and some Grey) Squirrels inhabit the Dark Forest.

There is little organisation amongst Squirrel Cults, which tend to be based around Temples or Temple-Trees of RATATOSKR in towns or forests with Followers forming ad hoc groups to fulfil Nutty Quests.  Some of these groups are:

• The Secret Squirrels: a favoured name of Thievish Bands which are not usually organised enough to constitute a Thieves' Guild in their own right and may consist of members of other Guilds or Brotherhoods.
• The Pechuvogwaith: the Squirrel Cultists of the Sindarin Elves of Taur-na-Dúiren (Forest of the Oaks) in Taur-Galen, where grows a mighty oak which is the greatest Temple-Tree of RATATOSKR.  These are the largest dedicated Druidic Squirrel Cult.
• The Squirrel People: local Squirrel Cults of the woods of the Overworld, the largest of which hides in the Western Greenwoods of Valdrea and takes in fugitive Chaotics (but is prone to infiltration by Imperial spies)

There are rumours of Giant Squirrels and Weresquirrels associated with some of these Cults, but these may just be tall tales spread by the Cults to inspire respect or simply because they thought them amusing.

Squirrel Cultists who have put their Ft in RATOTOSKR may claim the following SMs:

• a Ft SM of +1 (+5%) on Slings
• a Th SM of +1 (+5%) on CLIMB
